About the role
Religious Education at Brigham Young University (BYU) is seeking an IT Administrator III to provide comprehensive technology support that enables teaching, research, and learning throughout the college.
Responsibilities
- Provide technology support to faculty and staff by troubleshooting hardware, software, networking, and system issues while overseeing IT support operations.
- Manage and maintain Religious Education's websites, web applications, virtual servers, content management systems, and technology infrastructure.
- Administer user accounts, endpoint management systems, software deployments, security updates, backups, and data protection procedures.
- Hire, train, supervise, and mentor student employees while providing technology training and collaborating with university partners on IT initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field, plus at least two years of computer troubleshooting experience (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
- Experience installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting computer hardware, operating systems, software, networking, and endpoint devices.
- Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple stakeholders.
- Commitment to the mission of BYU and Religious Education.
Preferred
- Three years of experience in systems administration, web development, or a related IT field.
- Experience with web technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, Linux, Apache), Microsoft MEM, Jamf Pro, Active Directory, Red Hat OpenShift, or similar technologies.
- Experience managing servers, websites, endpoint management, security, backups, and supervising or mentoring technical support staff.
