About the role
Kenworth Renton is seeking an energetic, details-driven team member to collaboratively drive quality improvements throughout our heavy-duty truck plant in Renton, WA.
Responsibilities
- Leading and participating in continuous improvement projects and other quality assurance functions as assigned.
- Processing of nonconforming parts (NCP’s), sending disposition requests, issuing MDR’s (Material Disposition Reviews), handling SR’s (shipping releases), and updating QA databases (reflections).
- Supporting supplier requests for additional information regarding rejected parts (i.e., clarification of specifications, photos, etc.), working with departments to determine root cause, responsibility, and corrective action for nonconforming parts.
- Supporting ISO audit processes and tools to ensure compliance to internal (Kenworth) and external (Regulatory) standards and requirements while driving closure as needed.
- Conducting ISO training.
- Evaluating complex claims and making claim payment recommendations per PACCAR procedures and policies.
- Responding to dealer, DSM, vendor, and customer inquiries.
- Communicating division policies and procedural requirements and technical information in a professional and timely manner.
- Communicating warranty issues to plant management, quality, and production teams.
- Performing analysis of warranty data to define trends, pinpoint issues, and identify issues of high dollar and frequency.
- Leading teams and individuals in reducing and eliminating warranty issues through quality improvement initiatives and projects as well as initiatives with customers and dealers.
- Negotiating with various interest groups (Customers, Dealers, Plant, Division, and Corporate) to achieve a reduction in warranty issues and costs while simultaneously maintaining good will as well as supporting and promoting the Kenworth product.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- A minimum of five years of relevant experience, including at least two years in quality management and one year in organizational management within a manufacturing environment.
- Comfortable communicating and presenting to senior management and cross-functional teams in a way that enables non-technical team members to understand the quality requirements and metrics.
- A Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or related field required.
