About Us
Pennington Biomedical Research Center, a campus of Louisiana State University, is at the forefront of medical discovery related to understanding the causes of obesity, diabetes, cardiovascular disease, cancer, and dementia. The Center conducts basic, clinical, and population research, enabling both focused and translational science. About the Role
Pennington Biomedical Research Center is seeking an ISG Analyst 1, 2, or 3 in Computing Services. This role involves working with a small team of IT professionals to manage, configure, support, and design enterprise infrastructure systems and services. The ideal candidate possesses strong technical and communication skills, can manage multiple priorities, and works effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities
- Configure and maintain server operating systems (primarily MS Windows Server) and related applications and services.
- Configure, install, and maintain server and network hardware, including related power and cabling infrastructure.
- Monitor device and network service availability and performance; analyze logs, diagnose, and resolve outages and impairments.
- Configure and manage virtualization environment and enterprise network storage.
- Administer enterprise tape backup environment, perform backups, test restore operations, rotate tapes, and maintain backup targets.
- Assist in backup-related hardware and software installation and upgrades.
- Assist with hardware and software procurement, including recommending, evaluating, and developing specifications and solutions.
- Function as tier 2 support escalation path for cases referred and managed by the Help Desk.
Requirements
ISG Analyst 1 or 2:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field.
- IT Analyst 2 requires three (3) years of experience in an IT-related position.
- Extensive experience in the Microsoft Windows ecosystem, including many of the following: Windows Server, Windows 7/10, Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, NPS, IIS, SCCM, WSUS, RDS, CIFS.
- Significant experience working with server and network hardware in a data center environment and related power/copper/fiber infrastructure management.
- Proficiency in system design, database management, and enterprise software.
- Effective communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with project management and agile methodologies.
ISG Analyst 3:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of professional experience in information systems, business systems analysis, application support, healthcare systems, data analytics, or related technical support environments.
- Experience analyzing, implementing, troubleshooting, and supporting enterprise applications or information systems.
- Ability to gather business requirements, evaluate workflows, and recommend system improvements or technical solutions.
- Knowledge of system integration, database concepts, reporting tools, and software lifecycle management.
- Experience working with end users to provide training, technical support, issue resolution, and system optimization.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate technical information to non-technical users.
- Experience with project coordination, testing, documentation, and change management processes preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Commvault Simpana or other enterprise tape backup environments.
- Network security, router, firewall, and switch administration (especially Cisco and Juniper).
- Linux/LAMP administration.
- Office 365 administration.
- Phone systems (PBX).
- Remote desktop environments.
- Enterprise Network Storage (especially NetApp CDOT or Nimble).
- 802.11 Wireless/WiFi.
