Responsibilities

• Teach advanced ISEE Upper Level sections, including Verbal Reasoning, Quantitative Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and Mathematics Achievement (algebra, geometry, trigonometry, data analysis, and probability).
• Explain stanine scoring, percentile interpretation, and essay evaluation criteria for competitive secondary school admissions.
• Teach strategic test-taking techniques, such as advanced vocabulary strategies, quantitative comparison methods, and critical reading analysis.
• Guide students through complex analogies, multi-step algebraic reasoning, geometric proof-based questions, data interpretation, and timed essay construction.
• Emphasize pacing strategies and targeting high-difficulty questions for score maximization.
• Adapt instruction using official ERB practice materials, targeted vocabulary study, and progressive difficulty problem sets for students in grades seven through eleven.
• Identify and address common student challenges, such as sophisticated vocabulary and abstract quantitative reasoning.
• Use multiple teaching approaches to explain concepts and tailor instruction to individual learning styles.
• Provide 1-on-1 online tutoring and accept on-demand tutoring requests when available.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of ISEE Upper Level content and advanced mathematics beyond typical grade-level curriculum.
• Ability to teach advanced test-taking strategies and problem-solving techniques.
• Familiarity with common student challenges and adaptive instructional methods.
• Strong communication skills and an engaging, friendly teaching style.
• Ability to adapt to different learning styles and student needs.
