IS TECHNICIAN LDAR I

About the role

HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is seeking an LDAR Monitoring Technician to join their safety-conscious team. This role involves using an analyzer and electronic data recorder to accurately monitor components within an industrial facility, calibrate equipment, and identify leaks.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates initiative, planning work, and carrying out tasks without detailed instructions; makes constructive suggestions; prepares for problems or opportunities in advance and undertakes additional responsibilities;
• Uses a portable analyzer and electronic data collector;
• Analyzes data, evaluates situations, identifies problems or opportunities, including likely causes;
• Communicates daily equipment changes with office personnel;
• Communicates/coordinates with plant personnel;
• Maintains accurate records of monitoring activities;
• Completes daily uploads of monitoring activity to the customer database and completes daily emissions monitoring reports;
• Performs minor mechanical adjustments when situations arise;
• Identifies leaks and processes leak tags;
• Works extended hours and weekends when necessary.

Qualifications

• Strong communication (written, verbal, and listening) and interpersonal skills;
• Prior experience in chemical plants or refineries is helpful, but not necessary;
• Willing/able to work at moderate to high levels of physical exertion for extended periods;
• Willing/able to work in inclement weather conditions (extreme heat/cold);
• Willing to work extended hours and weekends when necessary;
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities are a plus.
