About the role
HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, is seeking an LDAR Monitoring Technician to join their safety-conscious team. This role involves using an analyzer and electronic data recorder to accurately monitor components within an industrial facility, calibrate equipment, and identify leaks.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates initiative, planning work, and carrying out tasks without detailed instructions; makes constructive suggestions; prepares for problems or opportunities in advance and undertakes additional responsibilities;
- Uses a portable analyzer and electronic data collector;
- Analyzes data, evaluates situations, identifies problems or opportunities, including likely causes;
- Communicates daily equipment changes with office personnel;
- Communicates/coordinates with plant personnel;
- Maintains accurate records of monitoring activities;
- Completes daily uploads of monitoring activity to the customer database and completes daily emissions monitoring reports;
- Performs minor mechanical adjustments when situations arise;
- Identifies leaks and processes leak tags;
- Works extended hours and weekends when necessary.
Qualifications
- Strong communication (written, verbal, and listening) and interpersonal skills;
- Prior experience in chemical plants or refineries is helpful, but not necessary;
- Willing/able to work at moderate to high levels of physical exertion for extended periods;
- Willing/able to work in inclement weather conditions (extreme heat/cold);
- Willing to work extended hours and weekends when necessary;
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities are a plus.
