About the role
HPC Industrial, powered by Clean Harbors, in Location is seeking an LDAR Monitoring Technician to join their safety-conscious team. This role involves accurately monitoring components on an assigned route within an industrial facility using an analyzer and electronic data recorder. The technician must also calibrate equipment and identify leaks.
Responsibilities
- Demonstrates initiative, planning work, and carrying out tasks without detailed instructions; makes constructive suggestions; prepares for problems or opportunities in advance and undertakes additional responsibilities;
- Uses a portable analyzer and electronic data collector;
- Analyzes data, evaluates situations, identifies problems or opportunities, including likely causes;
- Communicates daily equipment changes with office personnel;
- Communicates/coordinates with plant personnel;
- Maintains accurate records of monitoring activities and emissions;
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Strong communication (written, verbal, and listening) and interpersonal skills;
- Prior experience in chemical plants or refineries is helpful, but not necessary;
- Willing/able to work at moderate to high levels of physical exertion for extended periods;
- Willing/able to work in inclement weather conditions (extreme heat/cold);
- Willing to work extended hours and weekends when necessary;
- Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities are a plus.
