About the role

The Environmental Technician II operates a variety of mechanical and manual servicing equipment for industrial services, waste management, and tank cleaning, following HPC established methods, policies, practices, procedures, and applicable regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the operation of industrial waste treatment equipment or power tools as directed and in accordance with established company and client’s facility rules.
  • Check equipment at the start of each shift; hook up and break down hoses using proper tools when directed by Operator or Project Manager.
  • Manually clean, install, fit, repair valves, caps, hoses, pumps, gaskets, and all other external and internal equipment on projects.
  • Perform equipment maintenance and clean up work area and equipment after work is complete.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe and clean workplace.
  • Inspect equipment, hoses, connections, pumps, and general work area prior to starting any job; inform supervisor of deficiencies.
  • Wear personal protective equipment as prescribed by posted signs, written instructions, work permits, supervisor, or clients Safety Department.
  • Promote safety through own actions and work habits; report all accidents and near misses immediately.
  • Follow direction of supervisor; does not operate alone.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of related experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities of the position, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have access to a telephone and reliable transportation.
  • Valid driver license and compliance with company’s driving policy when driving company or personal vehicle on company business.
  • Basic safety courses including site-specific procedures; successful completion of all required and OSHA training as a condition of employment.
  • May be required to provide Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Attention to detail, ability to follow procedures, and safe driving.
  • Reading, writing, and comprehending in English.
