About the role

Lutheran Social Services of Illinois (LSSI) is hiring a full-time IS Systems Support Specialist to provide technical support for applications, desktop, network, and telephony systems in the Agency, working from the System Support Center.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Level 1 and Level 2 support for applications, usage questions, and technical problems, via phone or at user workstation at CSO.
  • Configure and standardize desktop hardware and software orders.
  • Under supervision, install, configure, test, and troubleshoot personal computer systems, following established standards.
  • Grant security access to corporate networks and applications.
  • Demonstrate professional, positive behavior and carry out responsibilities with integrity, treating clients, families, other LSSI workforce members, and collaborative organizations and/or individuals in a dignified, respectful, honest, and fair manner.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • A bachelor's degree is preferred.
  • Three to five years of relevant experience is preferred.
  • A background check clearance is required.
  • IT certifications are preferred.
  • A demonstrated understanding of Microsoft Operating Systems, preferably Windows 10 and 11, is required.
  • A knowledge and understanding of Saas and on-prem applications are required.
  • A demonstrated understanding of how an organization's technology landscape works is required.
  • The ability to identify repeated issues and work with IS Network Engineers to bring permanent resolutions is required.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills to resolve issues expeditiously are required.
  • Accurate documentation skills to ensure users are able to help themselves in resolving issues are required.
  • An ability to communicate in a clear, comprehensible manner, both verbally and in writing are required.
  • A demonstrated ability to work independently as well as understand when to escalate and involve team members and supervisor are required.
  • An excellent organization, presentation, and PC/computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) along with other related software are required.
