About the role
Interventional Radiology Technologist responsible for performing high-quality IR procedures under radiologist supervision, ensuring patient safety, maintaining equipment, and adhering to protocols.
Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic and therapeutic IR procedures using state-of-the-art equipment.
- Prepare patients, position them correctly, and explain procedures to ensure patient comfort and understanding.
- Maintain safety, infection control, and sterile techniques during invasive procedures.
- Ensure accurate documentation, manage imaging records, and verify patient information.
- Maintain equipment functionality and work area cleanliness, collaborating with engineers and physicists as needed.
- Provide excellent patient service, effectively communicate, and address patient needs to enhance satisfaction.
- Serve as a preceptor for new staff, support training, and assist with departmental initiatives.
- Work independently, demonstrate professionalism under stress, and administer first aid if necessary.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited program.
- Interventional Radiology Technologist experience preferred.
- Certifications: ARRT-R, BLS, and state licensure.
- Additional ARRT certifications in interventional radiography or cardiovascular IR required within two years.
