Find your calling at Mercy! The IR Special Procedures Technologist performs advanced imaging procedures, including fluoroscopy and interventional radiology, assisting in diagnosing and treating patients.

Responsibilities

  • Operate specialized imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy and interventional radiology tools.
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
  • Provide critical support during complex medical procedures.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to patient care and effective communication with patients and staff.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program and completion of required clinical hours or completion of RCIS training certification.
  • One (1) year of relevant experience.
  • State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
  • Certification: AART (R) or RCIS; Basic Life Support (BLS).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expert-level understanding of imaging technologies, protocols, and limitations.
  • Ability to mentor and train less experienced technologists.
  • Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and using imaging software.
  • Strong communication skills with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
  • Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
  • Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
