Find your calling at Mercy! The IR Special Procedures Technologist performs advanced imaging procedures, including fluoroscopy and interventional radiology, assisting in diagnosing and treating patients.
Responsibilities
- Operate specialized imaging equipment, including fluoroscopy and interventional radiology tools.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures.
- Provide critical support during complex medical procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to deliver optimal patient care.
- Maintain a strong commitment to patient care and effective communication with patients and staff.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited Imaging Program and completion of required clinical hours or completion of RCIS training certification.
- One (1) year of relevant experience.
- State licensure may be required depending on the specific state of practice.
- Certification: AART (R) or RCIS; Basic Life Support (BLS).
Preferred Qualifications
- Expert-level understanding of imaging technologies, protocols, and limitations.
- Ability to mentor and train less experienced technologists.
- Proficiency in operating imaging equipment and using imaging software.
- Strong communication skills with patients and healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow complex instructions.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
- Prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
- Ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
