Investment Mentor (Private Capital)

About the role

Initio Sphere is onboarding Investment Mentors (Private Capital) to provide strategic, investment-focused guidance and mentorship to fund managers, investors, deal sponsors, and analysts. This is not a traditional employment role. Mentors operate as independent contractors and are activated through a verification and approval process.

Responsibilities

• Advises fund managers on investment strategy, capital positioning, and LP engagement
• Serves as a sounding board for deal sponsors with structuring, diligence oversight, and negotiation strategy
• Mentors analysts and deal scouts on modeling, diligence processes, and transaction execution
• Provides portfolio advisory services, operational insight, and value creation guidance
• Focuses on high-level investment guidance, strategic judgment, and mentorship, rather than day-to-day transactional modeling unless explicitly approved

Requirements

• Experienced private capital professionals with a strong track record
• Demonstrated ability to mentor teams on real private capital transactions

Qualifications

• Strong background in private equity, venture capital, or similar financial advisory roles
• Hands-on investment and transaction experience
• Ability to translate real transaction experience into structured mentorship and strategic investment insight

Skills

• Strategic thinking and investment judgment
• Effective communication and mentorship skills
• Experience with deal structuring, investment committee support, and transaction strategy
• Knowledge of operational or portfolio company advisory
• Ability to mentor analysts and deal scouts

Pay

Hourly rates: $200–$500, based on experience, investment history, and engagement scope

Transaction-based incentives may be earned for advisory contributions to closed deals

Payments issued after successful completion of advisory milestones or deal closure

No cap on earning potential for consistent, high-impact mentorship
