Investment Consultant - Relationship Manager
About the Role
An Investment Consultant - Relationship Manager on a Financial Advisor team is responsible for the development, maintenance, and oversight of relationships with new and existing clients. The Relationship Manager combines personal skills with all the resources of Morgan Stanley Smith Barney to help clients realize their financial goals. In collaboration with the Financial Advisor Team, Relationship Managers assess a client's circumstances and objectives, then provide individualized, highly strategic investment consulting. They have access to a full range of wealth-building, managing, and preserving services throughout the firm to offer clients.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients in accordance with the Team's agreed-upon strategy.
- Analyze investment opportunities and client needs, and recommend appropriate strategies.
- Maintain and develop client relationships by creating strategies to meet their financial goals through financial planning and wealth management.
- Prepare and deliver presentations or seminars to clients and prospects for business development purposes, as needed.
- Comply with all industry rules and regulations.
- Perform additional tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Minimum of three to five years of successful work experience.
- Active Series 7, 63, and 65 or Series 7 and 66 licenses, or successful completion of Series 7 and Series 66 exams within the time frame provided by company policy.
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Qualifications
- MBA from a top 10 business school.
- Five years of business experience and proven success in a previous career.
- Military background and experience (preferred).

Pay
Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $165,000 per year at the commencement of employment. Base pay is determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short- and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley-sponsored benefit programs.
