Investment Consultant - Relationship Manager
About the role
The Investment Consultant - Relationship Manager on a FA/PWA team develops, maintains, and oversees relationships with new and existing clients. Combining personal skills with Morgan Stanley Smith Barney’s resources, the Relationship Manager helps clients realize their financial goals. In collaboration with the Financial Advisor Team, they assess client circumstances and objectives to provide individualized, strategic investment consulting. Relationship Managers offer clients a full range of wealth-building, management, and preservation services available throughout the firm.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients in accordance with the team’s agreed-upon strategy
- Analyze investment opportunities and client needs, and recommend appropriate strategies
- Maintain and develop client relationships by creating strategies to meet financial goals through financial planning and wealth management
- Prepare and deliver presentations and seminars to clients and prospects for business development
- Comply with all industry rules and regulations
- Perform additional tasks as needed
Requirements
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree or comparable professional certification
- Active Series 7 and 63 licenses; must maintain investment adviser representative (RA) registration where required
- Product and state licenses must align with those of the Financial Advisors on the team
- At least 5 years of business experience with proven success in a previous career
- Minimum of 5 years of FINRA registration preferred
Skills
- Extensive knowledge of the financial industry and products
- Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers and clients
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable compliance rules, regulations, and firm policies
Pay
Salary range: $68,000 – $120,000 per year. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award and participation in the relevant business unit’s incentive compensation plan, which may include a discretionary bonus component.
