Investment Banking Managing Director - Business & Financial Services

Intrepid Investment Bankers is expanding nationally and seeking to hire a talented and experienced Managing Director for our Business & Financial Services practice.

About the role

The practice will benefit from significant deal flow opportunities generated through the firm’s sponsor coverage, institutional referral relationships, and its parent company’s broad corporate and financial services network, with relationships spanning business services, financial services, legal services, insurance services, human capital management, education and training, real estate services, and other outsourced service sectors.

Responsibilities

• Building relationships with deal referral sources and business owners
• Identifying, qualifying, and generating new prospect leads
• Maintaining and managing client relationships and overseeing all client and counter-party communication
• Leading a specific practice or product area, as applicable, and developing thought leadership in target sectors
• Overseeing all aspects of the transaction
• Assisting other bankers in firm building activities (training, recruiting, mentoring, etc.)

Qualifications

• 10-plus years of experience in sell-side M&A advisory
• Minimum 5 years of industry specific M&A experience
• Deep understanding of professional and financial services sectors
• Extensive record and experience of originating and executing M&A transactions in business and financial services sectors
• Outstanding academic credentials from a top tier school
• Team player willing to take an integral role in Intrepid’s growth
• Excellent written and oral communications skills
• Self-starter willing to work in an entrepreneurial, demanding, and fast-paced environment
• Able to engage with prospects and intermediaries, develop relationships, and work seamlessly as a bridge for introducing other senior bankers into these relationships

Skills

• FINRA Series 7, 63 or 79 license, Series 24 preferred

The typical base pay for this role is $275,000 depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. This role may also be eligible for certain discretionary performance-based bonus and/or incentive compensation.
