Responsibilities
- Originate and cultivate middle-market investment banking opportunities by developing relationships with business owners, private equity firms, strategic acquirers, and referral sources to build a sustainable transaction pipeline.
- Leverage Mariner's advisor network to identify, source, and convert sell-side, recapitalization, and strategic advisory opportunities across client portfolios while positioning the firm as a trusted investment banking partner.
- Serve as a strategic advisor to founder-led businesses, guiding clients through liquidity events, ownership transitions, valuation strategies, transaction structures, and exit planning aligned with long-term financial objectives.
- Lead client engagements throughout the transaction lifecycle, providing senior-level advisory services with exceptional professionalism, discretion, and client-focused execution.
- Direct end-to-end transaction execution, overseeing due diligence, financial marketing materials, buyer outreach, negotiations, and successful deal closings while ensuring superior client outcomes.
- Partner cross-functionally with investment banking, wealth advisory, legal, compliance, and operations teams to deliver integrated, high-quality advisory solutions that align with clients' broader wealth management strategies.
- Drive business growth and market expansion by enhancing Mariner's investment banking platform, strengthening strategic relationships, and increasing awareness of the firm's differentiated advisor-aligned capabilities.
- Maintain accountability for transaction quality, execution timelines, and client satisfaction, ensuring successful deal delivery while managing multiple concurrent engagements.
- Support advisor acquisition and retention initiatives by integrating investment banking capabilities into the firm's broader wealth management offering and demonstrating the value of comprehensive client solutions.
- Mentor and develop investment banking professionals, fostering a collaborative, high-performance culture focused on professional growth, operational excellence, and exceptional client service.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in finance or related field
- 12+ years of investment banking experience with a focus on middle market transactions
