Investment Banking Associate - Financial Services - Insurance
About the role
Piper Sandler is seeking an experienced Associate to join the top-ranked Insurance Investment Banking Group's team of 33 professionals based in New York City. The Insurance Investment Banking Group provides sophisticated financial advisory and capital raising services to insurance services firms and insurance underwriters, as well as financial sponsors, pension funds and sovereign wealth funds. Associates play a vital role in building client relationships and executing transactions, with immediate opportunity to take part in structuring and executing mergers and acquisitions, capital raising transactions, and other strategic advisory projects. Associates work closely with senior bankers to expand their investment banking skillset while making a real impact on clients' businesses.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3-5 years of prior investment banking or private equity experience
- Insurance or related industry experience preferred, but not required
- Experience with buy-side and sell-side M&A, equity and debt financing transactions
- Excellent financial modeling skills
- Experience preparing industry and client presentations
- Experience with due diligence and transaction execution processes
- Excellent analytical, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a deal team in a fast-paced environment
- Extremely detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task
- Strong work ethic, motivation level, leadership qualities and desire to take initiative
- Ability to interact with a wide range of constituents and serve as a point of contact on deal teams
- Long-term interest in investment banking
Pay
Anticipated starting salary range for this New York City-based position is $175,000 - $225,000 per year. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience. This position may be eligible for annual incentive compensation which will be a part of the total compensation. Total compensation for this position will be competitive with the market.
