Investment Banking Associate - Financial Services - Insurance

About the role

The Insurance Investment Banking Group at Piper Sandler is seeking a highly motivated Associate to join our dynamic team in New York City. This role offers immediate opportunities to participate in structuring and executing a variety of mergers and acquisitions, capital raising transactions, and other strategic advisory projects.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with senior bankers to expand investment banking skillset
• Build and maintain client relationships
• Engage in buy-side and sell-side M&A, equity and debt financing transactions
• Prepare industry and client presentations
• Conduct due diligence and support transaction execution
• Collaborate with deal teams in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and 3-5 years of prior investment banking or private equity experience
• Insurance or related industry experience preferred, but not required
• Excellent financial modeling skills and experience preparing industry and client presentations
• Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
• Detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task
• Extremely detail-oriented and organized with the ability to multi-task
• Strong work ethic, motivation level, leadership qualities, and desire to take initiative
• Ability to interact with a wide range of constituents and serve as a point of contact on deal teams

Pay

The anticipated starting salary range for this New York City-based position is $175,000 - $225,000 per year. Placement within this range is dependent upon level of experience. In addition, this position may be eligible for annual incentive compensation which will be a part of the total compensation. Total compensation for this position will be competitive with the market.
