About the role
This position is for a full-time, permanent Inventory Specialist to work the graveyard shift (Monday - Thursday 9:00pm - 7:30am) and receive a 6% shift differential. The position supports operations through hands-on work with procurement, inventory, and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
- Order and receive inventory, parts, supplies and equipment.
- Research and purchase unusual or hard to find goods and services.
- Work on special projects or maintenance campaigns.
- Collect and evaluate specific data on required specifications.
- Resource and evaluate best-value purchases.
- Cookier and organize inventory area.
- Assist with scheduled cycle counts.
- Analyze usage trends, set stock reorder levels and minimum/maximum stock levels.
- Reconcile losses and gains from differences in inventory audits to maintain inventory within acceptable limits.
- Advise Supervisor and implement efficient and cost-effective purchasing practices.
- Maintain computerized and manual files and purchasing records for the purpose of inventory, equipment, shipments, repairs and costs.
- Review Maintenance and Facility Work Orders to assure all parts are reconciled correctly within the system.
- Create inventory reports as needed.
- Source and purchase all spare and replacement vehicle keys.
- Maintain centralized shipping and receiving area.
- Unload freight with forklift.
- Process outbound shipping for Agency; picks up products from local vendors.
- Contact vendors and resolve inconsistencies in pricings, core changes, restocking charges, receipts, delivery charges, warranties and quality issues with vendors.
- Pursue, monitor, troubleshoot and expedite new item warranty claims as needed.
- When needed, oversee the delivery of diesel, gasoline, and lubricants and gather and enter daily fueling data.
- Train new delivery drivers on agency safety spill protocols.
- Crosstrain with the Purchasing and Payables Specialist in regard to Fuel and Credit Card reconciliation and weekly invoicing.
Requirements
A working knowledge and experience in managing and handling diesel and/or heavy equipment machinery parts and inventories (preferably diesel, bus, semi-truck or heavy equipment).
Qualifications
- Associate’s Degree
- Three (3) years of increasingly responsible warehousing, diesel/truck/bus parts, or inventory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above.

- Competitive salary of $34.40 - $49.22 hourly (includes 5, 10, 15, and 20 year longevity pay) PLUS additional 6% graveyard shift differential in addition to annual general wage/cost of living adjustments typically received in January and step increases in July (if not at top of salary range).

Pay
