Inventory and Purchasing Specialist
Summary of Work
The North Dakota Department of Transportation is seeking professionals to contribute to the shaping of future transportation solutions. This role involves various tasks such as data entry, procurement of goods and services, inventory control, and managing the daily motor pool.
Responsibilities
- Purchase Orders and vouchers
- Purchase Card
- Vehicle and Equipment Usage Reports
- Procurement of Vehicle and Equipment Repair Parts
- Miscellaneous Purchases
- Building and Janitorial Supplies
- Shop, Section, Construction and Sign Shop Supplies
- Contact vendors with concerns, questions, or problems
- Pay District bills
- Aid in annual inventory and perform inventory cycle counts
- Perform disposal and adjustments on inventory items
- Maintain Parts and Supplies in District storeroom
- Checks and Balances for select field inventories
- Dispatch vehicles
- Monitor vehicle assignments and coordinate the redistribution of vehicles as directed by State Fleet Services
- Input vehicle usage
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Four years of storeroom, procurement/purchasing, or warehouse related work experience
- Valid Class D operator’s license
- Physical mobility compatibility with warehouse setting
- Ability to lift and carry several items up to 50 pounds
