Inventory Production Manager

About the role
This role maintains supply and inventory levels for products and materials housed at distribution centers. You will answer inquiries regarding order status, availability, and required dates, provide customer information, and ensure support requirements and schedules are met. You will research inventory discrepancies, make decisions within established guidelines to correct them, and may recommend improvements to inventory accuracy while maintaining related records and reports.
Responsibilities
- Create item identification labels for maintenance inventory items.
- Determine which items are consumable, critical, or CAPX.
- Provide accurate and current inventory data for purchasing decisions.
- Work with internal employees to maintain items and link to suppliers.
- Ensure critical stock items and maintenance supplies are maintained with appropriate item labels.
- Monitor inventory usage and make recommendations for items to remove or add.
- Ensure periodic physical inventories are conducted.
- Review received goods and supplies, ensuring items are priced appropriately.
- Work with Asset managers to assist with kitting.
- Review reports of inventory balance and/or shortages.
- Correspond with vendors concerning pricing for accuracy.
- Determine where to stock key critical inventory based on usage and feedback from Asset managers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (Business Administration preferred); alternative combinations of education and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree.
- 5+ years of experience.
- Advanced proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, D365, JD Edwards, Infor, Epicor, etc.) and the ability to help enhance existing processes.
- Experience with Production Planning and Material Requirements Planning.
- Strong expertise with WMS, barcoding, RF scanners, and inventory technologies.
- Strong customer service skills.
