About the role

The Inventory Manager will lead and implement inventory management, supply chain, and customer demand strategies. They will optimize logistics, procurement, and inventory management to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain proper stock levels to avoid shortages or excess inventory.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and implement inventory management, supply chain, and customer demand strategies aligning with the Company's goals
  • Optimize logistics, procurement, and inventory management to improve efficiency, reduce costs and maintain proper stock levels to avoid shortages or excess inventory
  • Identify, select, and maintain relationships with suppliers and negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms
  • Manage the acquisition and storage of raw materials, parts, or finished goods to ensure on-time delivery and cost-effective procurement
  • Manage transportation, warehousing, and distribution of goods
  • Participate in and help develop demand forecasting and planning activities to proactively prevent overstock or stockout conditions
  • Analyze supply chain performance data to identify inefficiencies and opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Analyze supplier performance to ensure compliance with all applicable quality and customer standards
  • Maintain highly organized and detailed records
  • Operate material handling equipment (i.e. forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools
  • Lead cost reduction initiatives with suppliers and secured customer approvals for savings
  • Absorb and provide training to team members
  • Perform supervisory responsibilities, including task prioritization, performance oversight, process enforcement, and employee development for assigned personnel
  • Supervise and manage the shipping and receiving operations
  • Accountable for team compliance in all packing, labeling, and shipping activities to ensure adherence to customer and regulatory requirements (e.g., military, international, hazmat)
  • Lead resolution of shipping discrepancies, serving as primary point of contact with carriers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Ensure inventory accuracy through supervisory review of receiving documentation and ERP/MRP system transactions (and/or other required tracking methods)

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field or equivalent experience
  • Three (3)+ years of demonstrated experience in an equivalent or similar role
  • Demonstrated experience using an ERP/MRP system
  • Demonstrated experience with ISO 9001:2015 or other industry-specific quality systems
  • Ability to operate material handling equipment (i.e. forklifts, pallet jacks, etc.)
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • Certification such as: Production and Inventory Management (APICS CPIM), Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (ISM CPSM)
  • Heavy Equipment Operator Certifications (such as Forklift)
  • Council of Supply Chain Management (CSCMP) Supply Chain Foundations Certifications: Manufacturing and Service Operations, Demand Planning, Customer Relationship Management, Transportation Management, Procurement Professional, Warehouse Operations
