About the role

The Inventory Management and Property Control - Senior staff will assist assigned offices with complying with property accountability and auditability as stipulated in respective Agency regulations. The contractor will coordinate with the appropriate Senior Logistics Staff Officer (or their designated representative) in the Directorate/Component/Mission Support Staff/Office of assignment to ensure inventories and accountability efforts align with overall Office of Logistics priorities. The role involves conducting inventories of goods and materials, serving as a Responsible Officer if deemed appropriate, and interfacing with a wide variety of individuals, requiring excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

  • Effectively supervise other contractor personnel in the completion of tasks.
  • Coordinate efforts with the appropriate senior Logistics Staff Officer or their designated representative to ensure alignment with Office of Logistics priorities.
  • Process routine inventory requests by validating receipt of goods and materials against requirements.
  • Provide status updates to designated staff and Office of Logistics focal points as required.
  • Update electronic records with status/location of items.
  • Issue and maintain hand-receipts.
  • Process all types of electronic transactions of property/equipment in the Sponsor's system or record.
  • Scan/create electronic records to create auditable financial statements.
  • Assist in the property inventory process, reconcile property discrepancies, and retrieve information from various databases to accurately track and inventory items.
  • Assist in maintaining a table of vehicular allowances and vehicle tracking databases.
  • Assist in maintaining and tracking agency telephones.
  • Process requests for vehicles and mileage reports.
  • Prepare usage charts for reporting to the General Services Administration (GSA).
  • Distribute parking permits and E-ZPass devices.
  • Issue component vehicles for short-term use and track keys.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI Clearance with Polygraph.
  • Eight (8) years of professional experience in a similar or related field.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Certified in the safe operation of forklifts within 30 days of commencing work and every 24 months thereafter (if required based on location).

Skills

  • Experience supervising other personnel.
  • Ability to become familiar with the Sponsor's logistics and appropriate financial regulations, policies, and unique authorities.
  • Basic knowledge of logistics procedures and policies specific to the area of assignment.
  • Basic knowledge of various logistics databases and applications.
  • Basic knowledge of how to read and interpret basic financial statements.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience developing a network of professional working relationships within the work unit and counterparts in other Offices.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to resolve routine problems effectively.
  • Adaptability to changing work requirements and priorities.
  • Proven use of good judgment and personal initiative in recognizing appropriate action for task completion.
  • Demonstrated high level of service delivery.

Work Environment

Depending on assignment, work is primarily performed in an office environment but may include conditions that vary (e.g., warehousing). Work may require extensive walking and moving between buildings/offices for inventory/accountability purposes. Tasks may involve standing, walking, bending, lifting light to heavy objects, or exposure to noise or dust.

Tools used in this occupation include general office equipment and hand scanning tools for equipment inventories. Technology used includes Sponsor databases for accountability and auditability purposes, as well as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Access).

Pay

US: $115,000 - $123,000 Annually
