Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Control Supervisor to oversee and optimize inventory control processes across the organization.
This position is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical skills with hands-on leadership, enjoys improving processes, and can collaborate effectively across multiple departments to support operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing overstock and stockouts.
- Oversee the receiving, storage, movement, and distribution of materials.
- Develop, implement, and maintain inventory control procedures to improve accuracy, efficiency, and cost control.
- Conduct cycle counts and physical inventory audits, reconciling discrepancies as needed.
- Track, analyze, and report on inventory metrics, including turnover, shrinkage, stock levels, and inventory accuracy.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and stock movement data using inventory management systems, including SAP.
- Partner with Purchasing, Supply Chain Planning, Operations, Finance, Sales, and Quality to support demand planning, SKU optimization, customer claim investigations, and business objectives.
- Cook up with warehouse teams to ensure proper storage, organization, and material handling practices.
- Support compliance with safety standards, inventory procedures, and best practices.
- Train and support team members on inventory processes, procedures, and SAP usage.
- Analyze trends, audit findings, and process gaps to recommend continuous improvement opportunities.
- Manage the returns process, ensuring materials are handled properly and documentation is completed accurately.
Knowledge And Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Certification in inventory management or supply chain management, such as CPIM or CSCP, preferred.
- Proven experience in inventory management, supply chain, logistics, or warehouse operations.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel or similar tools for reporting and data analysis.
- Experience using inventory management systems, ERP, or WMS platforms; SAP experience strongly preferred.
- Transferable experience with systems such as Oracle, AS400, or HighJump considered an asset.
- Strong understanding of inventory control processes, stock accuracy, cycle counts, and warehouse operations.
- Experience with Lean, 6S, Six Sigma, or project management methodologies preferred.
