Position Summary And Responsibilities

The Manufacturing Inventory Control Associate is responsible for maintaining accurate inventory records, ensuring the availability of materials for production, and optimizing inventory levels to minimize waste and maximize efficiency. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Inventory Management

  • Accurately track and review all incoming and outgoing materials, components, and finished goods in the ERP system.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to reconcile discrepancies and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively identify potential shortages or overstock situations.
  • Implement and maintain inventory control procedures to ensure efficient material flow.
  • Collaborate with warehouse manager to ensure proper storage and organization of inventory items.

Production Support

  • Ensure timely availability of materials for production by coordinating with procurement and production teams.
  • Process material requisitions and transfers accurately and efficiently.
  • Monitor and report on material usage and variances.
  • Support production planning by providing accurate inventory data.

Data Analysis And Reporting

  • Generate inventory reports and analyze data to identify trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of inventory transactions and procedures.
  • Aid in developing and implementing inventory control metrics and KPIs.
  • Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.

Collaboration And Communication

  • Collaborate with procurement, production, quality control, and other departments to ensure smooth material flow and inventory accuracy.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management regarding inventory status and issues.
  • Resolve inventory discrepancies and issues in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Some related experience preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
  • The employee is frequently required to walk; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
  • The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
  • While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold.
  • The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts and high, precarious places.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
