Inventory Clerk-Material Handler

Responsibilities

• Receive jobs as they come in from the shop floor.
• Wrap Equipment for shipments.
• Pulls and stages orders for freight shipments.
• Unload items to be stocked in warehouses.
• Help with work orders, purchase orders and sales orders as needed.
• Operate powered industrial forklift to transport inventory, unload incoming stock and load orders.
• Perform cycle counts.
• Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
• Transact inventory movements using inventory control system.
• Ensure FIFO (First in First Out) is followed for all transactions.
• Maintain safety and cleanliness of the work area.
• Monitor equipment or processes and report problems to supervisor.
• Verify inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigate discrepancies or adjust errors.
• Perform domestic and international shipping activities.
• Pack and stock finished goods items.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
• Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

• Experience handling and receiving stock length metals and/or sheet material.
• Understanding of decimals and gauges.
• Warehouse shipping/receiving experience with raw materials, specifically stainless steel.
• Good with math and numbers.
• Ability to properly read a tape measure or calipers.
