About the Role

Directs the daily workflow and assists the Department Supervisor, Manager, and/or Director in the Invasive Cardiology department at Florida Medical Clinic Orlando Health Wiregrass Ranch Hospital. This role ensures efficient and accurate monitoring of daily operations, patient flow, and staff workflow to deliver high-quality care in a state-of-the-art facility designed for excellence in cardiology, neurology, oncology, surgery, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and assist with daily workflow, including patient flow, supply ordering, staffing assignments, and resolution of customer service issues.
  • Lead Technologists, Registered Nurses, and Support staff to ensure compliance with protocols and procedures.
  • Resolve daily operational problems and function at a supervisory level in the absence of the Supervisor/Manager/Director when requested.
  • Supervise, train, and orient new team members.
  • Communicate with the Medical Director to maintain and improve patient procedural operations and development.
  • Collaborate with the scheduling department and physicians to optimize patient and staff flow, resolving patient care issues as needed.
  • Maintain a cooperative working environment and report any personnel inadequacies in skill, knowledge, or behavior.
  • Maintain radiation safety records of personnel.
  • Ensure compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures, including attendance standards.
  • Practice efficient use and selection of supplies and equipment, ensuring regulatory standards are met or exceeded.
  • Perform Performance Improvement (PI) initiatives and process flow changes as directed.
  • Establish and assess staffing patterns to support excellent customer service.
  • Assist in clerical duties such as printing reports, scanning documents, and scheduling patients.
  • Administer medical aid in emergencies and maintain department cleanliness and organization.
  • Work with vendors and Clinical Engineering to schedule equipment downtime for preventive maintenance and repairs, reporting any issues promptly.
  • May assist with maintaining the department’s timekeeping using Orlando Health’s system.
  • Perform all other duties as necessary to ensure quality customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree from an accredited school in one of the following: Nursing, Cardiovascular Technology, Cardiopulmonary Technology, or Radiologic Technology.
  • Must maintain licensure/certification/registry in the specific specialty:
    • Current nursing license in the State of Florida (renewed every two years); or
    • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) (renewed every three years); or
    • Certification as a Rad Tech (RTR) (renewed yearly).
  • BLS/Health Care Provider certification required.
  • ACLS certification required.
  • Two (2) years of cath lab experience.
