Job Summary

Demonstrates knowledge of sedation medication, reversal agents, and monitoring equipment in accordance with sedation policy and procedures.

Demonstrate critical care skills and is able to assess and intervene as needed to maintain the patient’s physiological homeostasis.

Is proficient in administration of conscious sedation/analgesia and other medications as is necessary in the care of patients.

Possess sterile technique skills as needed to be able to scrub minor cases.

Responsible for patient preparation by having knowledge of patient’s lab values, allergies and need for pre-medications or treatments, as well as patient’s history.

Able to assist with equipment setup prior to procedures.

Maintain optimal function of emergency support equipment and perform daily check and maintains log sheet.

Care and prepare Interventional patients, competent in sterile technique, able to don sterile gown and gloves and maintains a sterile field for procedures.

Fulfills on call/callback requirements as determined by department needs.

Perform blood glucose monitoring equipment daily checks, perform environmental rounds and assist with room turnover between patients.

Qualifications

  • Required Minimum three years experience as a registered nurse.
  • Required One-year experience in radiology nursing.
  • Required Graduate of an AMA approved School of Nursing.
  • Required Current Nursing registration with the State of Virginia or has a compact license.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
