About the role

The Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB Health) in Galveston, Texas, seeks an Interventional Cardiologist to join its growing academic cardiology practice (all Academic ranks welcome).

The successful candidate will become an integral part of our growing Department and the Sealy Heart and Vascular Institute (SHVI) and will work in a well-managed, high-quality and robust multi-faceted cardiology practice with a large Cath Lab procedural volume.

besides coronary interventional skills, endovascular interventional skills are highly desired - and priority will be given to candidates with endovascular skills.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the academic mission of UTMB Health through teaching, mentoring, and scholarly activities.
  • Provide clinical care in the catheterization laboratory and other cardiovascular settings.
  • Participate in research activities, including grant writing and publication.
  • Collaborate with other members of the SHVI and UTMB Health to advance cardiovascular care.

Requirements

  • Current medical license in good standing in the state of Texas.
  • Board certification in Cardiovascular Disease and Cardiovascular Interventions.
  • Experience in both coronary and endovascular interventional procedures.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Completed residency in Cardiovascular Medicine or equivalent.
  • Completed fellowship in Cardiovascular Interventions or equivalent.

Skills

  • Excellent clinical skills.
  • Strong research and publication skills.
  • Effective teaching and mentorship abilities.
