Internship, Security Analyst, Security & Intelligence (Spring 2027)

About the role

The position is expected to start in January 2027 and continue through Spring term (approximately ending in April 2027 or later, depending on availability). Applicants should be prepared to commit to a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week), and on-site.

Responsibilities

• Support programs designed to reduce IP loss risk to Tesla crown jewel programs
• Support ongoing training and awareness efforts, emphasizing information security/IP protection best practices
• Support review of candidates for high-impact roles across the company
• Conduct sensitive, complex, and confidential investigations into incidents of data loss and intellectual property theft, technology misuse, and conflict of interest
• Solve complex problems with data from multiple sources and make recommendations to leadership on the appropriate strategy
• Perform comprehensive OSINT research, collect, analyze, and disseminate OSINT data from various sources
• Identify potential security threats or trends to Tesla personnel and facilities

Requirements

• Final year student working towards a degree in international relations, political science, or humanities related studies
• Able to work on site in Austin, TX or Palo Alto, CA
• Proficiency in open-source research
• Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to change focus quickly due to shifting corporate priorities
• Ability to balance school and internship
• Demonstrate strong ability to embrace and adapt to change, take initiative, and showcase curiosity, learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• The highest level of integrity and honesty, with the ability to protect sensitive confidential information
