Internship, Security Analyst, Security & Intelligence (Fall 2026)

About the role

The position is expected to start in August or September 2026 and continue through fall term (ending approximately December 2026 or later, if available). Applicants must commit to a minimum of 12 weeks, full-time (40 hours/week) and on-site.

Responsibilities

• Support programs designed to reduce IP loss risk to Tesla crown jewel programs
• Support ongoing training and awareness efforts, emphasizing information security/IP protection best practices
• Support review of candidates for high-impact roles across the company
• Support sensitive, complex, and confidential investigations into incidents of data loss and intellectual property theft, technology misuse, and conflict of interest
• Solve complex problems with data from multiple sources and make recommendations to leadership on the appropriate strategy
• Conduct comprehensive OSINT research—collect, analyze, and disseminate OSINT data from a variety of sources
• Identify potential security threats or trends to Tesla personnel and facilities

Requirements

• Final year student working towards a degree in international relations, political science, or humanities related studies
• Able to work on site in Austin, TX or Palo Alto, CA
• Proficiency in open-source research
• Comfort with ambiguity; the ability to change focus quickly due to shifting corporate priorities
• Balance both school and internship
• Demonstrate strong ability to embrace and adapt to change, take initiative and showcase curiosity, learn quickly in a fast-paced environment
• Self-starter who is results oriented, resourceful, analytical, innovative, intellectually curious and who take initiative and risks
• Strong communicator, both written and verbal

Qualifications

• The highest level of integrity and honesty and the ability to protect sensitive confidential information

Skills

• Technical skills are not required but a strong foundation in information security and IP protection is essential
