International Trade Services Specialist Sr. - Letters of Credit

About the role
As an International Trade Services Specialist Senior within PNC's International Trade Services organization, you will be based at Two Tower Center, PNC's East Brunswick, New Jersey building. This role is designed for candidates with prior experience in International Trade Operations, specifically in areas such as Letters of Credit, Trade Finance, OFAC/Sanctions compliance, UCP600, SWIFT messaging, and related trade regulations.
The work schedule for this role is Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM. Once trained, the position follows a hybrid model with 2 weeks in the office and 2 weeks remote each month. PNC is an in-office company that fosters a supportive culture where employees can thrive and achieve balance.

Responsibilities
- Utilize international trade-specific procedures, rules, guidelines, and regulations to evaluate and execute complex transactions or provide onboarding assistance for trade products.
- Approve international trade services transactions and processes, with responsibility for one or multiple specialized products or functional areas.
- Process and consult on complex trade transactions of varying risk and financial value in accordance with established procedures, rules, guidelines, and regulations.
- Identify and address exceptions and escalated items, interacting with internal and external stakeholders to complete transactions.
- Serve as a subject matter advisor on projects and assist with training/coaching new hires.
- Administer the trade compliance program for all trade transactions and escalate as necessary to mitigate bank risk.
- Collaborate with International Sales, Risk Oversight, and PNC Legal on regulatory compliance, legal matters, and customer-related documentation.
- Consult with internal and external stakeholders on complex transactions, providing responses and documentation for inquiries and ad hoc requests related to international trade products.
- Assist with the onboarding of new clients and perform secondary reviews of moderate to complex transactions and related documents.
- Verify work processes to ensure completeness, accuracy, and conformance to established service levels and applicable policies and procedures.
- Review reports to process transactions or monitor new customer onboarding.
Requirements
Successful candidates must demonstrate appropriate knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role. Below are the skills, competencies, work experience, education, and required certifications/licensures needed:
- Preferred skills: Accountability, Customer Solutions, Ensure Compliance, International Trade Compliance, Letter of Credits, Personal Initiative, Process Improvements, Results-Oriented, Risk Mitigation Strategies, Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), SWIFT Payments, UCP 600.
- Competencies: Accuracy and Attention to Detail, Decision Making and Critical Thinking, Effective Communications, Flexibility and Adaptability, Managing Multiple Priorities, Operational Functions, Problem Management Process, Products and Services, Standard Operating Procedures.
- Work Experience: Typically requires a university/college degree with less than 1 year of professional experience and/or successful completion of a formal development program. In lieu of a degree, a comparable combination of education, job-specific certification(s), and experience (including military service) may be considered.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree.
- Certifications: Certified Documentary Credit Specialist (CDCS) – BAFT (preferred).
Pay
Base Salary: $63,000.00 – $105,000.00. Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive eligible, with payment based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
