International Logistics Coordinator

Responsibilities

• Cook up international shipments of metal products, raw materials, and industrial equipment via ocean, air, and ground transportation.
• Collaborate closely with freight forwarders, carriers, and customs brokers to ensure timely shipment execution and customs clearance.
• Inspect shipping documents such as commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, and certificates of origin.
• Track shipments with carriers from origin to destination and update internal stakeholders on shipment statuses.
• Assist in reviewing product descriptions and tariff classifications (HTS codes) to ensure accurate customs documentation.
• Support basic trade compliance activities and recordkeeping.
• Handle import entries and resolve customs clearance issues with brokers when necessary.
• Review freight invoices and contribute to transportation cost tracking and reporting.
• Coordinate with internal departments like purchasing, production planning, warehouse operations, and finance to ensure accurate shipment information.
• Maintain organized shipment files and ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to logistics efficiency, cost control, and supply chain optimization.

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, or a related field is preferred.
• Two to four years of experience in logistics management is required.
• A basic understanding of international trade processes and shipping documentation is beneficial.
• Familiarity with import/export procedures and customs documentation is advantageous.
• Proficiency in using shipping software and systems to track shipments, generate reports, and maintain accurate records is essential.
• Strong organizational and communication skills are necessary.
• The ability to manage multiple shipments and priorities in a fast-paced environment is crucial.
• A detail-oriented approach and strong problem-solving abilities are important.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for working effectively with internal teams, external partners, and customers.
• The capacity to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment, is required.
