Responsibilities

  • Serve as first point of contact for the International Admissions Office service window.
  • Communicate with students via verbal, face-to-face, written, and electronic correspondence.
  • Provide support to the International Admissions team and other units.
  • Provide prospective students with information regarding admission requirements and admission status.
  • Attend in person and virtual events hosted by the College of Extended and Global Education.
  • Affiliate with social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram to post/create content.
  • Affiliate with clerical functions for the International Admissions Office (i.e. file paperwork, maintain an organized working environment, make deliveries around campus, etc.).
  • Affiliate with making deliveries to university departments and programs.

Qualifications

  • Ability to learn and perform assigned work;
  • Follow oral instructions;
  • Work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students;
  • Communicate effectively with all levels;
  • Read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Special Qualifications

  • Admission or registration as a CSU student.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Maintain a 2.0 GPA or greater per semester and cumulative.
  • Enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate).
  • Full-time enrollment at CSUSB for international students (12 units undergraduate; 6 units graduate).
  • Eligible to work in the United States.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Detail-oriented, punctual, and reliable.
  • Affinity for other cultures and languages is preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and other relevant applications.

Compensation And Benefits

Payscale Range: $16.90 per hour or (Determined by Federal Work Study).

The compensation offered will consider internal equity and experience among other factors.

Position Information

  • Work status: Part-Time, Temporary, Seasonal
  • Academic year available hours: Monday through Friday (8:00 am – 5:00 pm).
  • Summer available hours: Monday through Thursday (7:00 am - 5:30 pm).

Conditions of Employment

  • Satisfactory completion of a background check (including a criminal records check) may be required for student employment purposes.
  • CSU hires only individuals lawfully authorized to work in the United States.
  • Completion of Sexual Violence Prevention Training within 6 months of assuming employment and on a two-year basis thereafter.
