About the role
The Transaction Tax Practice at EY is a dedicated team focusing on the tax aspects of corporate and private equity acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, and capital market transactions. As a Transaction Tax Manager, you will serve corporate and private capital markets clients in tax diligence, general transaction advisory, and transaction project management.
Responsibilities
- Apply knowledge to devise strategic outcomes for complex tax issues, including US domestic and cross-border tax strategies.
- Manage tax strategy by addressing global law changes such as Base Erosion Profit Shifting (BEPS).
- Advisory on transactions involving financial instruments like cash, debt, equity, derivatives, and foreign exchange.
- Manage professional employees or supervise others to deliver complex technical initiatives, ensuring quality and effective risk management.
- Drive continuous process improvement, identify innovative solutions through research and analysis, and apply your insight and experience of best practices.
- Guide others and interpret internal/external issues to recommend quality solutions.
- Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree)
- US CPA or member of US State bar
- No less than 4 - 6 years relevant experience

- Review, assess, and advise clients regarding tax computations reflected in their financial models; and assist clients in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the tax data in their financial projections for the transaction
- Applies depth of expertise to guide others and interprets internal/external issues to recommend quality solutions
- Maintains performance objectives and metrics set locally (client service, quality and risk management, sales and business growth, solution development and teaming, etc.)
- Exercises judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results

Pay
Base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $116,200 to $212,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $139,400 to $242,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
