About the role

The Transaction Tax Practice at EY is a dedicated team focusing on the tax aspects of corporate and private equity acquisitions, dispositions, restructurings, and capital market transactions. As a Transaction Tax Manager, you will serve corporate and private capital markets clients in areas such as tax diligence, general transaction advisory, and overall transaction project management. You will assist with internal restructuring and corporate and private equity buy/sell side due diligence, develop and execute tax strategy, and advise on transactions involving financial instruments.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and deliver processes, solutions, and projects, ensuring quality and effective risk management.
  • Drive continuous process improvement and identify innovative solutions through research and analysis.
  • Apply depth of expertise to guide others and interpret internal/external issues to recommend quality solutions.
  • Exercise judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
  • Manage professional employees or supervise others to deliver complex technical initiatives, with accountability for performance and results.
  • Manage engagement economics and implement resource plans and budgets.
  • Identify and analyze tax risks and opportunities while advising on alternative tax strategies for acquisition, disposition, and restructuring of businesses.
  • Plan, execute, and integrate transaction strategies for clients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required (4-year degree).
  • US CPA or member of US State bar.
  • No less than 4 - 6 years relevant experience.
  • Data Visualization and Storytelling.
  • Tax Due Diligence.
  • Tax Attribute Management and Planning.
  • Private Equity Transaction Actions.
  • Deal Structuring and Restructuring.
  • Post-Deal Integration.

Qualifications

  • Experience managing professional employees or supervising others to deliver complex technical initiatives.
  • Ability to interpret internal/external issues and recommend quality solutions.
  • Experience in client service, quality and risk management, sales and business growth, solution development, and teaming.
  • Experience in resource planning and budget implementation.
  • Strong writing, research, analytical, communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work in fast-paced professional services environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel, when necessary.

  • Experience reviewing, assessing, and advising clients regarding tax computations reflected in their financial models; and assisting clients in the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the tax data in their financial projections for the transaction.
  • Experience in continuous process improvement and identifying innovative solutions through research and analysis.
  • Experience applying depth of expertise to guide others and interpret internal/external issues to recommend quality solutions.
  • Experience meeting performance objectives and metrics set locally.
  • Experience exercising judgment in selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

The base salary range for this job in all geographic locations in the US is $116,200 to $212,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $139,400 to $242,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.

Pay

Base salary range for this role in all geographic locations in the US is $116,200 to $212,900. The base salary range for New York City Metro Area, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $139,400 to $242,000. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography.
