About the Role
As a Maintenance Supervisor at Continental, you will lead a multi-craft technician team toward a zero-breakdown culture while promoting safety, TPM/PM concepts, and effective problem-solving. You will manage equipment downtime, assign tasks, and ensure the team is trained and capable in maintenance and repair activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage and lead multi-craft technicians to achieve zero breakdowns.
- Make decisions on equipment downtime and schedule technicians for preventive maintenance (PM) and repairs.
- Promote and monitor safety throughout the plant.
- Train and implement TPM/PM concepts and problem-solving methodologies (CBS, 5 Why, clean, inspect, repair).
- Mentor and arrange training to ensure team capability in maintenance and repair.
- Complete daily maintenance shift reports.
- Escalate unresolved technical issues to the lead engineer after 2 hours of consecutive downtime.
- Communicate team performance with area leads or supervisors.
- Monitor and ensure execution of PM tasks and work orders, following up on completion and quality.
- Handle attendance, vacation requests, and other administrative tasks as directed.
- Collect and assign maintenance best practices for consistency across shifts.
- Partner with the team on hands-on maintenance activities as needed.
- Adjust work schedule to meet maintenance and production needs.
- Monitor production equipment for early intervention and assign personnel efficiently.
- Coach the maintenance team on training needs and promote team cohesion.
- Support the Continental Business System (CBS) by participating in meetings, managing performance, and implementing improvements.
- Issue procedures, work instructions, and ensure implementation of measures.
- Raise awareness and ensure ESH (Environment, Safety, Health) training and responsibilities.
- Notify and respond to unsafe or polluting hazards, initiating preventive measures.
- Demonstrate exemplary behavior in ESH and motivate others.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Two or more years of maintenance experience in a production environment.
- Broad technical background, including knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, PLC, electrical, hydraulic, electronic devices, machining/grinding, and maintenance repair procedures.
- Flexibility to adjust work schedule to meet production and maintenance needs.
- Ability to monitor equipment, assign personnel, and coach the team on training needs.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no visa sponsorship available).

Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s or bachelor’s degree.
- Supervisory or leadership experience.
- Experience in Continental tire build maintenance.
- SAP experience.
Work Environment
- Safety is the highest priority; adherence to safety procedures and guidelines is mandatory.
- Non-climate-controlled environment with exposure to temperature swings, forklift/pedestrian traffic, and noise.
- Physical tasks include lifting, operating machinery, standing for long periods, stooping, twisting, bending, walking long distances, climbing stairs/ladders, and occasionally lifting 50+ pounds.
