Internal Sales/Advisory Consultant

About the Role
As an Internal Sales/Advisory Consultant, you will work with the aligned External Sales/Advisory counterpart(s) to represent Nomura and our strategic suite of public and private investments including Private Alternatives, Mutual Funds, Separately Managed Accounts, and Exchange Traded Funds. Based on the aligned distribution channel, you will engage with either wirehouse and independent broker-dealer Financial Advisors or RIA/Bank Trusts within the designated region(s) through virtual meetings, phone calls, and digital communications.
In this role, you will help build asset growth and firm profitability by enhancing strategic relationships through a consultative sales model. Additionally, you will analyze industry data to build a business plan in partnership with your External counterpart to achieve sales goals for the territories you cover. You'll use your strong communication, market knowledge, and data skills to build relationships with clients and others within Nomura, working as a member of a talented distribution team to resolve all client service issues.
Responsibilities
- Implement tactical strategies to increase sales, prepare weekly action plans, retain assets, and cultivate new clients
- Conduct consistent sales outreach via phone calls and virtual meetings to build relationships and drive sales; outreach is to both cold and warm leads
- Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of financial markets, Nomura products and services, and the competitive landscape; discuss the array of products across all disciplines (fund objectives, portfolio structures, investment management process, and strategy benchmarks)
- Work as part of a team to develop strong sales acumen to meet and surpass sales and activity goals for the region
- Utilize firm resources including Broadridge, Salesforce, Allego, Seismic, and other technologies
- Obtain virtual meeting appointments with firms to conduct sales or portfolio manager presentations
- Consult with advisors to understand needs and cross-sell products
- Build an understanding of key focus firms including products, platforms, structure, and initiatives
- Maintain and update the Client Relationship Management system (Salesforce) for all advisor client activities in designated territories
- Field inbound calls from partners and/or advisor clients regarding product questions
- Ensure compliance with internal and external rules, policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
Requirements
Associate Level
- Bachelor's degree required
- Knowledge of the financial marketplace; experience with the sales of financial products and two years of prior financial services experience preferred
- Series 7 and 66 (or 7, 63, and 65) licenses already passed
- Strong interest in sales and proactive outreach
- Experience with analyzing data to create a business plan
- Strong presentation, communication, and organization skills
- Ability to support 5-10% travel
Analyst Level
- Bachelor's degree required
- Knowledge of the financial marketplace
- Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) preferred, with the ability to complete the Series 7 and Series 66 licenses within 3 months of start date
- Strong interest in sales and proactive outreach
- Experience with analyzing data to create a business plan
- Strong presentation, communication, and organization skills
- Ability to support 5-10% travel

Pay
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $50,000 and $70,000 per year. Base pay may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, corporate and functional title and duties, job-related knowledge, advanced degrees, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package may also include other elements, such as a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave).
