INTERNAL ONLY - SHERIFFS SERGEANT-PATROL/INVESTIGATIONS - STARTING SALARY: $45.09 PER HOUR DOE
About the role
The position of Investigator Sergeant is a first line supervisor for field and investigation operations in the Sheriff’s Department. Duties include direct supervision of deputies, investigators, and agents, ensuring they effectively carry out their assigned tasks as outlined in job descriptions, motor vehicle codes, criminal statutes, labor standards, and other applicable laws.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical assistance and support in criminal case investigations.
- Periodically inspect departmental directives and policies, ensuring compliance and assisting subordinates in doing the same.
- Assume additional duties as directed by the department.
- Work irregular hours and attend job-related meetings as needed.
- Be part of an “SIU on Call” roster.
Requirements
- Perform duties with minimal supervision.
- May be required to work irregular hours and attend job-related meetings.
- Promotion based on a Written Examination (30 points), Oral Interview (20 points), Seniority (10 points), Education (10 points), and Management Review (30 points).
