About the role

The Investigator is assigned to the Captain of the Criminal Investigation Division of the Eddy County Sheriff's Office. This position may be subject to special assignment as directed by the Eddy County Sheriff or his designee. Testing for the position follows the Eddy County Sheriff's Office Policy and Procedure Manual.

Responsibilities

• Investigate criminal activity
• Review and write complex reports
• Process crime scenes
• Perform undercover assignments
• Obtain evidence
• Interview witnesses
• Develop informants
• Prepare case files
• Testify in court
• Prepare and execute search warrants, criminal complaints, and other work-related affidavits
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Be on call on a rotating basis and respond to callouts at any time
• Work irregular hours, attend meetings, and perform all other duties as assigned

Pay

Starting salary: $40.85 per hour
