General Position Summary
About the Role
Provide exceptional food and beverage service that exceeds guest expectations. Create a memorable experience for guests using refined guest service skills. Exhibit complete knowledge of food, beverage, and services provided by the Space Needle.
Responsibilities
- Follows Steps of Service and Timing Guidelines, maintains proper server etiquette, and approaches guests with a positive, courteous attitude.
- Exhibits complete knowledge of food and beverage offerings.
- Engages, merchandises, excels, and works collaboratively with the team.
- Maintains section and room detailing prior to opening, ensures food and beverages are served at the proper temperature with correct presentation, and ensures guest satisfaction throughout the dining experience.
- Completes all required set-up under the direction of the management team, completes all assigned closing duties, checks out with manager before clocking out, rings in tock numbers into toast, trains new additions to the team, ensures setup and closing procedures are followed by all team members, requests tools and products needed, performs beverage batching when needed, and assists with other duties as directed.
- Ensures reliable attendance and punctuality, maintains high grooming and communication standards, promotes a positive and professional attitude, and performs physical tasks such as walking, standing, reaching, and lifting (30 to 50 lbs.) throughout the shift.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years food serving experience in a high volume, full-service environment.
- Extensive knowledge of food and beverage, including wine and food pairing and suggestive selling techniques.
- Valid Washington State Class 12 or Class 13 Alcohol Service Permit, and a valid Washington State Food Handler’s Permit.
- Excellent grooming and communication skills.
- The ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
- The ability to work well in a team-based environment and maintain a professional demeanor.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Minimum of three years food serving experience in a high volume, full-service environment.
Skills
