About the role

The Facilitator supports the successful implementation of the just keep livin after-school fitness and wellness program at the assigned school site. Founded by Matthew and Camila McConaughey, the program helps students develop healthy habits through physical activity, teamwork, gratitude, nutrition, wellness education, and community service. Between Labor Day and Memorial Day (excluding school holidays and academic breaks), the facilitator leads two-hour sessions twice weekly.

Compensation

  • Extra-duty pay: $55/hour (not to exceed 132 hours)
  • Additional 3 hours for required training

Responsibilities

  • Participate in required district and just keep livin training
  • Facilitate program sessions twice per week, incorporating fitness, wellness, nutrition, gratitude, teamwork, and community service activities
  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for students
  • Follow district procedures and just keep livin program guidelines
  • Recruit students and promote ongoing participation
  • Encourage regular attendance, teamwork, and positive engagement
  • Track student attendance and participation
  • Support student leadership and voice when appropriate
  • Coordinate required community service activities
  • Promote approved field trips, guest presentations, and enrichment opportunities
  • Complete required district approval processes for program activities
  • Maintain regular communication with site administration, district staff, just keep livin staff, and community partners
  • Share program updates, successes, needs, and challenges in a timely manner
  • Refer student concerns to the appropriate school site administrator
  • Maintain required attendance, activity, and participation records
  • Submit required reports within established timelines
  • Support the administration of approved surveys and reflection tools
  • Provide feedback regarding program implementation and student participation
  • Use participation data and feedback to help identify program needs and improvements
  • Maintain program equipment, supplies, and materials
  • Follow district procedures related to purchasing, food handling, facilities, supervision, field trips, and volunteers
  • Perform other related duties consistent with the scope and hours of the extra-duty assignment

Requirements

  • Possess a valid Clear California Teaching Credential

Desired Qualifications

  • Interest or experience in physical fitness, health and wellness, nutrition, social-emotional wellness, or community service
  • Demonstrated ability to build positive relationships with students and encourage consistent participation and engagement
