Internal Auditor

About the role

The Internal Staff Auditor plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance and maintaining internal controls within the Virginia Lottery Gaming and Hard Rock organizations. This position involves performing audits, investigations, and special projects to assess various aspects of operations and recommend improvements.

Responsibilities

• Execute compliance, financial, and risk-based internal audits, investigations, and special projects.
• Avoid and resolve potentially contentious issues with all levels of management.
• Utilize spreadsheets, word processing, database, data analytics, and web-based software to analyze and document audit findings.
• Communicate investigation results to leadership through verbal and written reports.
• Maintain accurate records and files related to audit assignments.
• Participate in professional meetings and continuing education.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field.
• Gaming and/or hospitality experience preferred.
• Preferred certifications include Certified Internal Auditor, Certified Public Accountant, or Certified Information Systems Auditor.
• Experience with PC environments and accounting software packages.

Additional Requirements

• At least 21 years old.
• Pass drug screening.
• Valid driver's license in the assigned state.
• Pass background check and obtain a Virginia Lottery Gaming license.
• Organized, detail-oriented, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding financial data and Hard Rock policies.
• Proficient with personal computers, Excel, and Word.
• Knowledge of Alteryx, IDEA, and GRC software preferred.
• Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both verbally and in writing.
• Capable of establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
• Capable of standing and sitting for extended periods of time.

Pay

$39,900 - $58,900/Salary
