Intern - Power Generation Civil Engineering
Wisconsin Electric Power, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking an intern to support civil engineering projects in our Milwaukee, Wisconsin location. This full-time summer role begins in May or June 2027.

About the Role
Energize your career in a progressive work environment through our engineering intern program. This opportunity provides real-world, hands-on experience while you are still enrolled in college, along with competitive pay. You will join a team of multi-disciplinary engineers supporting the operation, maintenance, performance, and optimization of the District Energy Site in Milwaukee, WI. Receive mentoring from experienced engineers, support our generating fleet through a period of transition, and network with other engineering interns across the fleet.
Responsibilities
- Inspect steam equipment within manholes and tunnels
- Troubleshoot operation and maintenance issues
- Conduct failure investigations
- Provide project support and conduct site visits
- Assist in managing small projects
- Support equipment reliability and plant performance optimization
- Review drawings to identify utility conflicts
- Perform drawing reviews and updates
- Review and update procedures
- Ensure adherence to codes and standards
Requirements
- High School Diploma, GED, or HSE
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil, Mechanical Engineering, or related engineering majors with a graduation date after July 2027
- Minimum GPA of 2.8

- Related school project experience
- Prior internship experience
Pay
The starting hourly rate for this position is $23.10, with a pay range of $23.10 to $27.55. The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum for the position at the time of posting. Paid company holidays are included.
