We Energies, a subsidiary of WEC Energy Group, is seeking a Power Generation Mechanical Engineering Intern in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This internship begins in May/June 2027 and will be full-time through the summer, with potential for part-time work during the school year.

Job Summary

Network with other engineering interns across the fleet.

Responsibilities

  • Support and shadow the plant mechanical engineer
  • Assist with equipment reliability and capital project support
  • Gain familiarity with company computer applications, drawing management systems, and work management tools
  • Search, retrieve, review, and update drawings and related technical documentation
  • Help troubleshoot operation and maintenance issues under direct supervision
  • Participate in safety observations and environmental walkdowns
  • Support outage planning activities, including scope development, material management, and vendor selection
  • Learn about high-energy piping inspections to detect and manage flow-accelerated corrosion
  • Complete assigned training on corporate policies, plant systems, and safety

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or HSED
  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with a graduation date after July 2027
  • Minimum GPA of 2.8
  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred Qualifications

  • Related school project experience
  • Prior internship experience

Pay

The starting hourly rate for this position is $23.10, with a pay range of $23.10 to $27.55. Paid company holidays are included.
