Position Summary JOB DESCRIPTION Fedcap is seeking motivated, enthusiastic, and career-minded Interns to gain valuable hands-on experience while building professional, technical, and workplace skills. This internship provides meaningful exposure to a variety of career pathways through practical learning experiences across administrative, operational, customer service, facilities, maintenance, and program support functions. Working alongside experienced professionals, interns will strengthen their communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and organizational skills while contributing to Fedcap's mission of creating opportunities that change lives. What You'll Do Program & Administrative Support Assist with day-to-day program operations and departmental activities. Support staff with projects, assignments, and special initiatives. Assist with filing, data entry, recordkeeping, document preparation, and general administrative duties. Organize and maintain program materials, supplies, and equipment. Customer Service & Community Engagement Provide professional customer service to participants, visitors, clients, and staff. Participate in outreach, engagement, and community-based activities. Support participant services and help maintain a welcoming environment. Assist during workshops, meetings, training sessions, and community events. Operations & Facility Support Assist with inventory management and supply distribution. Support event setup, breakdown, and logistical coordination. Perform general maintenance, porter, janitorial, cleaning, and facility support duties as assigned. Assist with stocking, moving materials, and basic operational tasks. Provide support across multiple departments based on organizational needs. Professional Development Participate in job-shadowing experiences to learn industry-specific skills. Attend meetings, workshops, and professional development opportunities. Learn and follow organizational policies, workplace safety procedures, and professional standards. Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and accept constructive feedback. Perform other duties as assigned in support of departmental and organizational goals. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. Ability to follow instructions and complete assigned work responsibly. Demonstrated reliability, professionalism, and accountability. Education High School Diploma, GED, or TASC preferred. Current students or individuals actively participating in workforce development programs are encouraged to apply. Experience Previous work experience is not required. Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, email, internet navigation) are preferred but not required. Volunteer, school, or community involvement is considered valuable experience. Physical Requirements Depending on the assigned department, interns may be required to: Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods. Bend, lift, carry, push, or pull materials weighing up to 25 pounds. Perform light administrative, operational, or facility-related tasks. Work both indoors and outdoors as assignments require.
