Position Summary
Under general supervision, supports communication and customer outreach functions at the District. Responsible for assisting Business Development with the strategy and design of various initiatives including but not limited to the natural gas and water infrastructure replacement and the lead service line replacement programs, etc. This work will include creating material for proactive customer outreach and facilitating and presenting information at community events related to Lead and Copper Rule Revisions (LCRR) or infrastructure replacement. This work will include assisting Customer Engagement staff with tracking outreach and documentation for regulatory compliance.
Education Required
- One (1) year of college completed with a study emphasis in communications, public relations, or a related field.
- If a recent graduate, must be pursuing post graduate hours.
Licenses, Certifications and/or Testing Required
- Have and maintain a valid driver’s license.
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities
- Time management, planning, and organizational skills with attention to accuracy and details. (Intermediate proficiency)
- Efficient written and verbal communication skills, in English, to assist internal and external customers, co-workers and management professionally, regardless of provocation. (Intermediate proficiency)

- Demonstrate an aptitude for working on several projects at one time and meet deadlines. (Entry proficiency)
- Proficiency with personal computers, tablets, and/or other electronic devices to include familiarity with, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) and enterprise wide software (e.g., SAP). (Intermediate proficiency)
- Ability to learn new or upgraded computer software as required. (Entry proficiency)
- Occasional evening and weekend hours may be necessary. (Entry proficiency)
Essential Functions
- Collaborate with Business Development staff to create and implement a program for effective community outreach regarding lead service line replacements and gas/water infrastructure replacements. This may include coordinating meetings, creating and organizing documents and researching best practices from established programs.
- Affiliate with the planning and presentations for District-hosted and/or community events.
- Create and update spreadsheets, coordinate the printing, and mailing of outreach materials, and accurate tracking and scheduling of lead service replacements.
- Provide support to Customer Engagement staff, as directed.
- Variety of administrative tasks, including but not limited to data entry, mailings, department inventory.
Perform a variety of other duties as assigned

Physical And Environmental Requirements
- Combination: Work may be performed in an office setting amid normal conditions of dust, odors, fumes, office lighting and noises, but field/plant visits are required.
