U.S. Aggregates is seeking a self-motivated and critical thinking intern to assist in continuous improvement and operational projects and activities within our aggregate quarry sites. The Aggregates Intern will work with operations, safety, sales, and quality teams to gain experience in each area as well as complete their assigned internship project related to helping U.S. Aggregates improve operational efficiency. The position will be located at our Indianapolis corporate office or one of the plants and may be expected to travel to site locations to complete assigned work tasks. Essential Functions Review and analyze daily operational procedures, metrics, and trends at Aggregate sites to propose possible efficiencies improvementsAssist in conducting incident investigations including root cause analysis, coordinating execution of action items and continuous improvement activitiesWork with Aggregates site Plant Managers and Quality Manager to review operating procedures and collect data to optimize production strategiesCompletion of assigned project and presentation of accomplishments to the leadership team at the conclusion of internshipAdditional duties and responsibilities as assigned, including but not limited to continuously growing in alignment with the Company’s core values, competencies, and skills.
