About the Role

Marshall & Stevens is a 95-year-old independent, national valuation consulting firm known for its expertise in financial and tax reporting, mergers & acquisitions, transaction support, and litigation advisory. We provide valuation services across various industries, including real estate, energy & infrastructure, machinery & equipment, financial services, and litigation support. As an intern, you will gain hands-on experience working on high-profile projects, learning from industry experts, and developing key analytical and financial skills in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing financial models and conducting valuation analyses using the income, market, and cost approaches.
  • Collect and analyze financial statements, tax returns, and economic data to support valuation reports.
  • Research industry trends, economic conditions, and market transactions to provide insights into valuation methodologies.
  • Review and interpret legal and financial documents, such as shareholder agreements, operating agreements, and loan covenants.
  • Prepare supporting materials for client presentations, proposals, and financial reports.
  • Maintain and update databases of valuation transactions, financial metrics, and industry benchmarks.
  • Collaborate with team members across multiple practice areas, including business valuation, real estate, energy & infrastructure, machinery & equipment, and litigation support.

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with financial modeling and data analysis is a plus.
  • Ability to analyze complex financial data, perform in-depth research, and apply critical thinking to valuation problems.
  • Basic understanding of financial theory, corporate finance, investment valuation, and general accounting principles.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial findings clearly.
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and eager to learn in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • U.S. work authorization required.
