Temporary role from August – December 2026 at Bloomington Health Center, 811 West 2nd Street, Bloomington, IN 47403.
About the role
This position provides administrative support for the Homeless Initiative Program (HIP) department, assisting with administrative assignments and projects.
Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and coordinate specific programs as delegated; analyze problems and perform problem solving.
- Coordinate and direct data collection and disbursement; complete special projects and assignments.
- Perform special projects and/or ongoing assignments unique to the department; coordinate and track progress.
- Support department activities by providing various clerical duties as required.
- Answer technical inquiries relating to departmental programs, projects, and assignments; route incoming calls and direct visitors appropriately.
- Place outgoing calls and set up meetings for the department; apply a minimum of one health literacy method when communicating with patients/clients.
- Draft correspondence, ensuring accuracy and appropriateness; ensure director or designate reviews highly sensitive or important responses.
- Attend meetings, report on issues and decisions, and follow up on issues affecting areas of accountability; handle logistics, preparation of agendas, and required materials.
- Design, develop, and format reports; recommend program changes utilizing a microcomputer and various application software packages.
- Perform audits of specified data on a regular basis, including electronic and physical audits in various centers and program locations; report findings to the department.

Requirements
- Currently not sponsoring work visas.
- Ability to operate a personal computer using various applications, including spreadsheet and/or database software.
- Ability to learn departmental functions and specialized terminology applicable to the departments.
- Ability to work independently and research technical issues with little or no assistance.
- Ability to gain knowledge and understanding of the organization and department policies and procedures.
- Ability to work with financial figures.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to exercise tact and discretion.
- Ability to handle discretionary and confidential information.
- Ability to remain flexible in order to handle and prioritize work from various department staff.
- Maintenance of Intern licensure by the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency.
- May require travel between health centers.
Physical Requirements
- Able to be involved in degrees of prolonged standing, walking, sitting, bending, squatting, and stooping; as well as repeated bending, stooping, and squatting.
- Able to lift, push, and/or pull light to moderately heavy weight up to 20-30 pounds.
- Able to perform duties during periods of varied and/or prolonged work hours.
- Must be able to read, write, hear, and communicate effectively in the English language both orally and in writing.
