About the role

Great West Casualty Company is seeking a detail‑oriented accounting intern to gain real‑world experience supporting various accounting functions. The internship provides hands‑on exposure to daily accounting operations, financial reporting, and corporate accounting practices within a leading insurance organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily accounting operations and financial reporting activities.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
• Prepare and analyze financial data, reports, and reconciliations.
• Assist with month‑end and year‑end close activities.
• Review financial records for accuracy and completeness.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis projects.
• Help maintain accounting documentation and records.
• Collaborate with team members on process improvement initiatives.
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Junior or senior standing preferred.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 preferred.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work both independently and as part of a team.
